Basildon A.C's international. Kim Wall was in action over the weekend at the UK Indoor Championships. Wall put in a fine performance to take gold in the 400m in a seasons best time of 53.07. This is a step towards possible selection for the GB squad at the World Indoor Championships next month...

Birmingham hosted the National Indoor Championships this weekend which saw two successful outings for Basildon A.C athletes. Gold went to Gemma Kersey in the under 20 women's 1500m giving her a clean sweep of Essex, Southern and UK championship gold. To add to the celebrations, Kersey's time of 4.37...

Lee Valley once again hosted the Essex Indoor Championships with continued success for Basildon A.C athletes.
In the under 13 girls 200m, there was a commanding win from Shannon McNeil (29.76) to add to her 60m silver from the day before(9.10 final, 8.88 in heat). Daisy Pointing ran a solid 800m race for silver (2.44.36) with her team mate Tilly Aitmarri finishing a respectable sixth (3.06.50).
Alice Perkins had a busy weekend in the under 15 girls where she competed in the 60m (9.90 heat), 200m (33.63 heat) and 300m (6th - 52.97). She was joined by Victoria Jones in the shorter sprints, both gaining valuable experience (60m heat - 9.24, 200m heat - 31.39).

At the final instalment of the indoor South of England Championships there were mixed fortunes for Basildon A.C athletes.
Congratulations goes to gold medal winning Gemma Kersey for her 1500m performance of 4.50.13 in the junior women.
The under 17 men's pole vault proved a happy hunting ground with Mitchell Etheridge returning from illness to claim silver with a personal best (3.70m) and Robert Wood shared the bronze with his clearance (3.60m).
Dale Clutterbuck added to his silver from last weekend with a bronze in the junior men's 1500m (4.00.72).
Another finalist was Steven Strange who finished seventh in the under 17 men's 1500m with a personal best (4.22.86).
Other Basildon A.C athletes in action were sprinters Mark Dyble with a personal best (senior men - 7.0) and Kirsty Shepherd (junior women - 8.27) who both qualified for their respective semi-finals in the 60m. Senior man James Tydeman also unfortunately did not make the final (senior men - 4.06.91).
