At the final instalment of the indoor South of England Championships there were mixed fortunes for Basildon A.C athletes.

Congratulations goes to gold medal winning Gemma Kersey for her 1500m performance of 4.50.13 in the junior women.

The under 17 men's pole vault proved a happy hunting ground with Mitchell Etheridge returning from illness to claim silver with a personal best (3.70m) and Robert Wood shared the bronze with his clearance (3.60m).

Dale Clutterbuck added to his silver from last weekend with a bronze in the junior men's 1500m (4.00.72).

Another finalist was Steven Strange who finished seventh in the under 17 men's 1500m with a personal best (4.22.86).

Other Basildon A.C athletes in action were sprinters Mark Dyble with a personal best (senior men - 7.0) and Kirsty Shepherd (junior women - 8.27) who both qualified for their respective semi-finals in the 60m. Senior man James Tydeman also unfortunately did not make the final (senior men - 4.06.91).
