Bedford hosted the Eastern Combined events championships this weekend with unusually sunny weather.
 
In the senior women's heptathlon, Heidi Nicholas came away with gold with an overall points PB of 4079. She also achieved several PB's and season's bests along the way;(100m hurdles - 15.43 PB, high jump - 1.56m, shot putt - 7.91m SB, 200m - 26.07 SB, long jump - 5.06, javelin - 20.21m and 800m - 2.42.02 PB).
 
In the under 15 girls, Georgia Green-Muid ended her season with yet another bunch of PB's including the overall points tally of 2209 to finish a creditable 11th. She achieved PB's in the long jump (4.05m), shot putt (7.98m) and 800m (2.48.05).
