Watford hosted the Inter-Counties match for under 15's and under 20's over the bank holiday weekend.
Basildon A.C had several representatives slipping into their Essex vests.
In the under 15 girls, Poppy Lake cleared 1.60m for second in the high jump.
Under 15 sprinter Ryan O'Sullivan ran 11.49 for third in the 100m (11.45 in the heat).
In the under 20 women's match, Gemma Kersey came in third over the 800m (2.16.01). Kirsty Shepherd was fifth in her 100m with 12.74 (12.67 in the heat). Shepherd jumped off the 9m board in the triple jump for the first time and posted a jump of 9.39m for eleventh.
Basildon A.C and Newham & Essex Beagles joined forces for the final time this year at the National Junior promotional match.
Despite being hampered by several key athletes on Essex duty the same day, the Basildon Beagles fought hard to finish a well earned third place in the match.
