U17 Inter County Match 08.08.10

A handful of Basildon A.C athletes pulled on their Essex vests at the under 17 Inter-Counties match held at Stevenage this weekend.
The sprints were well represented with Akeem Akintokun winning the men's 200m A string with 22.5. Akintokun doubled up with the A string 100m where he finished third with 11.1 in a hotly contested race. He was joined by Ryan O'Sullivan who came second in the B race with 11.3. In the women, Jess Quick ran 12.8 for third in the A string 100m.
In the longer distances, Eleanor Johnson ran 11.18.1 over 3000m to finish second in the B string and Stephen Strange also finished second in his B string race with 4.16.2 over the 1500m.
On the field, Alex Wright won the men's javelin A string with 52.54m and Annabelle Baker equalled her PB to finish equal second in the B string high jump with 1.55m.
